Hi, I’m Sherry.
I was raised in Yreka, where my family has lived since 1969. After graduating from high school, I moved away to explore other places and build a life elsewhere (mostly in the Sacramento area).
But Siskiyou County has always been home. I’ve visited often over the years, and now I’ve been back in Yreka for over a year.
One thing that’s never changed is how much I love finding fun and interesting things to do around here. From hiking trails to small-town events, there’s always something worth checking out. That’s what this site is all about: helping both locals and visitors discover the best of Siskiyou County.
My sidekick on most adventures is my dog, Shelby. She goes almost everywhere with me, so I’m always on the lookout for dog-friendly trails, patios, parks, or anywhere she can tag along. If you’ve got a pup too, you’ll find plenty of ideas here to include them in your plans.
My absolute favorite time of year is fair week. The Siskiyou Golden Fair has been a highlight of my summers for as long as I can remember. It’s one of those traditions that kept pulling me (and even my grown-up son) back every year.
Whether you’re new to the area or you’ve lived here your whole life, I hope Siskiyou Adventures helps you make the most of your time in this beautiful part of California especially if you’ve got a furry friend along for the ride.
